|
The Company has devoted considerable efforts and resources to
internal research and development focused on analyzing and applying
commercially-available software and computing technologies to create
unique methodologies and tools which enhance its test systems
engineering and information technology expertise. By combining
high-end engineering consulting with advanced technology-based
services, the company’s Advanced Technology Systems Division (ATSD)
provides enterprise business analyses, solutions design, solution
prototyping, solution development, systems integration and
implementation management services to government and commercial
clients. Advanced technology areas include:

Intelligent Maintenance Support Systems:
ATSD has conducted
technology research and system development efforts related to the
application of virtual and synthetic instrument technologies to
support Organizational Level maintenance test requirements,
including aircraft avionics maintenance. The system solution
developed by the ATSD , as part of its IR&D efforts, combines a test
execution engine developed by ATSD with off-the-shelf test
application development tools. A test resources repository is used
to access test resource modules and instrument drivers to configure
the system with interchangeable virtual instruments from different
vendors. The system can be adapted to support on–equipment or
off-equipment testing as well as remote shipboard and aircraft
health monitoring applications. The system integrates the ability to
collect test data and provides an interface to remote tele-collaboration
and maintenance applications for distance support during actual
field operations. |

Web
Portal Collaborative Solutions:
Using web-based collaboration
tools ATSD has developed an Integrated Development Environment (IDE)
to promote effective and efficient project collaboration and project
administration. Our web-based collaboration tool is capable of
pushing information down as well as transmitting information up and
across a business organization. One key benefit is that the cost and
the time associated with the development and management of project
documents can be reduced. For example, automating the handling of
electronic documents i.e. work plan, progress reports,
workflow/functional diagrams, technical documents and associated
revisions, in a controlled manner, yields a speedy return on
investment (ROI) and dramatically improves operating efficiency
within an engineering organization. Approvals that used to take
weeks or even months can be done in days or even hours.

Wearable
Computing Solutions:
Today technicians spend a significant amount of time during the
maintenance process retrieving and entering information into the
various logistics systems; electronic maintenance technical orders (IETM),
maintenance forms, maintenance work orders , ordering parts, asset
identification, etc. This going back and forth to access or enter
information into stationary computers, laptops or PDA(s), puts
efficiency and accuracy at risk. This situation is compounded by the
complexity of the current platforms which may require technicians to
be proficient in various technology domains. ATSD, in cooperation
with academia, is conducting exploratory research and development in
the area of wearable computer technologies which show great promise
in providing the means to solve these problems. |

Specialized Hardware/Software Integration Solutions: ATSD
provides specialized hardware/software integration solutions with a
particular focus on Motion Sensors, Robotics, Barcoding , and Remote
Image Processing Systems. These applications are developed using a
structured system development life cycle (SDLC) methodology in order
to verify compliance with industry and commercial standards related
to design, test, evaluation and acceptance of the client’s
performance requirements. |
